The Institute of Organic Optoelectronics (IOO) was jointly established by Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI), the Wujiang Government of Suzhou and Prof. Shuit-Tong Lee and his team from FUNSOM, Soochow University in July 2016. IOO is located in Foho, and its legal entity is JITRI Organic Optoelectronics Co., Ltd with a registered capital of 50 million RMB. IOO covers an area of over 30,000 m2 as lab and office space. In addition to the monetary support from the JITRI and Lee’s team, the Wujiang Government has also provided a seed funding of 300 million RMB for the establishment of the Institute.

IOO regards the research and development activities as its key business, and the developed technologies as its products. IOO employs globally renowned experts in the area of organic optoelectronics, with the aim of developing key technologies in organic optoelectronic materials, vacuum evaporation equipment and OLED panels. Furthermore, IOO aims to cultivate and nourish talent in the field of organic optoelectronics, accelerating the transfer of patented technologies, and promoting integration among universities, government and technologies, talent and industries related to organic optoelectronics. In the first five years of establishment, IOO will work to create an international platform that employs top talent, leading technologies and high-tech enterprises in the area of organic optoelectronics.
