题目: Origin and role of band gap states in organic semiconductors

摘要：
What is the key difference between organic and inorganic semiconductors? Understanding origin and energy distribution of electronic states in HOMO-LUMO gap is indispensable to answer the question and unravel various mysteries in optoelectronic properties of organic devices. We summarize ultrahigh UPS results on gap states of organic semiconductors, which are directly related to the nature of molecular solids, and discuss their origin and role. We will also introduce recent UPS results on the gap states in C60 single crystals.
