Dr. Ziyuan Song received his B.S. degree in Materials Chemistry in 2011 from Peking University, and his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2017 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) under the supervision of Prof. Jianjun Cheng. He then worked as a Postdoc Research Associate at UIUC from 2017 to 2020 with Prof. Jianjun Cheng and Prof. Makoto Inoue. In 2021, he joined FUNSOM at Soochow University as a full professor.

Research Accomplishment:

Dr. Ziyuan Song is working on polymer chemistry and polymer materials. His research focuses on the polypeptide materials, including the synthetic methodology, the control over secondary structure, and the biomedical applications. Dr. Song has published 60 peer-reviewed papers (20 papers as first or corresponding authors), with a total citation over 2,500 and an H-index of 27. He holds 2 US patents and served as the invited reviewer for more than 10 journals.
