
Sifan You
Associate Professor
Dr. Sifan You received her B.S. in Applied Physics from Lanzhou University in 2015. She obtained her Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from Peking University in 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Ying Jiang. From 2020 to 2025, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials, Soochow University, under the supervision of Prof. Lifeng Chi. She was an exchange student at the University of Manitoba, Canada, in 2013, and carried out a short-term academic visit at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2019. She has also recently engaged in collaborative research with the Technical University of Munich, Germany. In 2026, he joined the Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials, Soochow University, and was appointed Associate Professor.

Research Interests: Scanning probe microscopy; single-molecule conductance measurements; interfacial water science; on-surface chemistry.
Major Achievements and Contributions:
Her research focuses on scanning probe microscopy, non-contact atomic force microscopy, single-molecule conductance measurements, charge transport in conjugated polymers, interfacial water science, and on-surface synthesis. Centered on structure–property relationships at the single-molecule scale, she develops high-resolution structural characterization and charge-transport measurement methods, with particular emphasis on how connectivity, conjugation patterns, and defects in conjugated molecules and polymers influence coherent transport.
She has served as an investigator of a young scientists fund project supported by the national natural science foundation of China and a general program project supported by the China postdoctoral science foundation. She was selected for the 2024 Jiangsu Outstanding Postdoctoral Program. Also, she has published eight papers as first author or co-first author in journals including Science, Nature Communications, ACS Nano, and National Science Review, and has been granted one Chinese patent.
